How to make full use of the class time
There are some tips that help you on how to make full use of the class time.
Work out how much time you have in class,to spend on the things that you want to do.Write a schedule,with blank boxes for the times you have available.
Work out what proportion of time you want to spend on each of them,e.g.20 minutes on A,10 minutes on B,or 5 minutes on C.
You may wish to become a volunteer in the class during free time and offer your time to take part in some classroom activities with your classmates.This could include helping others for the subject which you think you’re good in by putting up some exercise for them.if you have not worked hard enough in your previous semester,or you are still lagging behind,you should make use of your class time to catch up with your school work.It will be a good time for you to pursue your interests in some of the subject.It will make you feel that your life is meaningful and rewarding,as well as pump more zest into your life.And it could turn out to be a most rewarding experience for you.

It is an honor to give you a speech here. My name is Huang Shulin ,from Minhou NO.1 High School .I am a happy girl. Life is like a mirror. When you smile ,it will smile back. So I always try to smile and to be kind to everyone I meet.
To be honest ,it is not only a chance but a great challenge for me to join this competition. I’ve never joined a competition like this. But I can practice my spoken English and improve my confidence today. It is enough. I believe I will do my best today and I won’t say “It is a great pity” tomorrow .
This is me, a confident and happy girl.
And then, I’m going to talk about how to make full use of your spare time.
There is a saying ,“Time is money”. But I think, time is more precious than money. When money is spent , you can earn it back. However ,when time is gone, it will never return. That’s why you must value time especially your spare time.
Every minute is a treasure. How to make full use of your spare time? First, you should use your spare time to do useful and productive things. Second, you should deal with your jobs as wonderful as you can, as quickly as possible. Third, you can make a time list. If you are free, you can do some things what you have to do tomorrow. What’s more, during your spare time, you can do some exercises to keep healthy, read some books to get more knowledge, join some clubs to relax, chat on the Internet to make friends around the world and so on. If you are too busy, you’d better not put off until tomorrow what should be done today, either.
In a word, you should get into a good habit of using your spare time wisely. Please remember, if you waste your time, you waste your life!

Textbooks, though often criticized and seldom praised, are essential to our college career. They provide core information in easy accessible form. (or Far too many students believe that education consists of a load of busywork and passing some annoying exams. They hold the view that passing the exams is the most important, and learning is incidental. As a result, few students attach much importance to the textbook.)A textbook is a collection of the knowledge, concepts, and principles of a selected topic or a course. Using textbooks wisely enables us to develop the self learning ability and keep our studying organized and efficient. Some steps to make full use of textbooks are explained below.
2. First, survey the entire textbook and each chapter. When you first receive your textbook, spend half an hour skimming the entire textbook to acquire an overall understanding of how the book is organized. For example, you should look at the title page and copyright page, read the preface, and look at the table of contents and any illustrations including charts, graphs, and tables. Then you can survey each chapter. The survey should tell you the scope of the content, how the different topics are organized, and what the author’s purpose and point of view are. The chapter survey will also give you sufficient background information for your class notes. As you survey the material, ask yourself questions about what you are reading and what you will try to answer. This is the first step before reading the book intensively.
3. The second step is to read each chapter intensively. You should read everything in a chapter including any of the visual aids and try to find the main ideas in each chapter or section. If you like, underlining key words and sentences will make those items stand out in your mind, so you will then have a visible outline of the major points on a page. You many also make some marginal notes which give you the opportunity to remember from the paragraph or question a statement or position from the author. In addition, doing each assignment before class will prepare you to participate in class discussions. In class, teachers will give us some key knowledge and describe what we should know or be able to do. We should be free to ask for an answer if we couldn’t grasp the knowledge, or we have a different idea concerning some statement or theory.
4. After the class, reviewing what we have learnt is an essential part of retention. Reviewing your textbook notes before beginning a new reading assignment will help you keep the overall picture of the book’s development in mind. You should review any and all supplements to your text, which will prepare you better for examinations. Constantly review throughout the course will greatly reduce the time you will need to spend preparing for exams and will make that time less stressful and more relaxing.
5. To sum it up, if we want to learn and grasp the key knowledge of a textbook, we should make full use of the textbook. Besides the above advice, we’d better keep a critical way on textbooks, because no textbook is perfect or complete. It is but one resource. We should learn to use it as a guide to a broader way of knowledge.
