1.如果您知道周围的同事是gay,我想问一下,对他会有不好的看发吗?或者不说您,说周围的其他同事,这样对职业会有影响吗?多大?仅限于机械行业,搞研发.
2.我能保研,但我放弃了,因为学校根本没教多少有用的东西,大部分课程有用也不用照书念的老师来教,自学也行.
但是我现在根本没觉得自己能做什么,学到现在,比如线代,控制工程,理论力学,我还真认真学了,以后去企业研发能做什么呢?该在什么方面补呢?
3.听您说过,机械行业得耐得住寂寞,待遇出来几年内不会高,因为我是gay（看样子和平时打交道和普通人一样）,关心生活的问题（在企业发展受限制）,所以我期待自己能单干,所以现在心态有些浮躁,想赶紧出来学硬本事,能有一点原始积累,并且在想办法以后兼职（去培训机构当英语老师,英语还行）.工作应该是上海.

First of all, I hope you can face your personal character honestly, bravely!
Sex orientation won't be any obstacle of you or anyone else in your career map, whatever in Mechanical engineering, Indutry, Marketing business...
Gay, Les, it's normal, from the beginning for human history, it never disappeared.
So please don't feel shame and try to let others understand/realize what you choosed.
For your questions:
1.
As my opinion, you should keep your sex orientation in secret in company. Though as I have said, it does no impact to your career. But for most people, they still blacklist gay in their life. It's very difficult for you to change their mind. If they find you are different, some will accept you, but more will offend you by some little things.
You couldn't put yourself to swink between a rock and hard place, right?
Office life is also very important for you, everyday you spend most time in office, not in home. Of course you must keep distance with female workmates, specially peers and partners.
In case of your intimity published, please stay and calm down. Something will happen, but do nothing, you must bear it and still do you job normally.
It's no matter you are in R&D or not, it's true office life.

Just like you, I also gave up the course when I have got the opportunity to challenge master, also with same reason.
Maybe you can't find the way out, as I repeated many times, it's not your problem, but schools.
Try to find some intern opportunity in multinational corporation, it's not so difficult as your description.
If you get the chance, please should learn the process, basic skill application, cross team function and actual combat by some small projects.
In my other replies, I have descibe many aspects of how to learn and do the job, you can take it as reference.
Please forget your theory what you learned in college. They are important, but no use for actually work. If you still work in R&D, you will use them but in a new way that you never imaged.
For example, Engineering/Classical Mechanics:
When we look at a new structure degisn, how to judge it's safety or not? Of course CAE will give us the objective result.
But how to get the first draft estimation in your mind swiftly? We should realize that in mose cases we have no enough time to wait for the CAE result.
In this case, please forget all formulas, just look at the structure, you should know where is the simply supported beam, where is cantilever beam or hanging beam. And where is safe locally and where is not, how about the safety coefficient.
Then? Done!
So you must find a job first, and then find what you need, and finally find what you can do!
If in interview, you were asked the same question. Please answer "Everything!", and then tell them what you have learned in college.
You must fail in first several tries, but everyone need bear the course. And soon you can learn a lot of things during the experience.
3.
There is no any direct relationship between work and your sex orientation. I can't realize what you are taking care about.
As what I said in topic 1, if you can deal with the relationship in office, there is no obstacle in your career map.
I have said many times that don't believe yourself too much, the probability of you to be a successful boss is too too too small, tend to be ZERO.
If you want to find some part time job, it's OK. But if you want to be the trainer as language coach in Shanghai, you must...
