Bicycles,as a means of transport,are indispensable companions of most Chinese.Each Chinese family possesses at least one bicycle.China is therefore called “the Bicycle Kingdom”.The popularity of bicycles in China,I think,is mainly due to the economy of the country and its people.China,as one of the developing countries,has no financial potential to expand its roads and to manufacture so many cars to satisfy the need of so many Chinese.
Compared with cars,bicycles,however,have their own distinctive advantages.Firstly,they are very convenient.For their small size,they do not need special parking space.They can be parked almost everywhere.For their light weight,they can be carried upstairs and downstairs.Secondly,driven by man power,they don’t need fuel.Hence they have nothing to do with air pollution and energy crisis.Finally,as China is still a developing country,most people can afford a bicycle rather than a car.
With so many advantages,bicycles will remain to be an important means of transport in China in the many years to come.But I think with the rapid development of Chinese economy,more and more Chinese will own a car though cars will never completely substitute bicycles in the future

With the development of science and technology, transport has hecome more and more sophisticated. The jet airliner, high-speed train, etc. were invented to meet the people's increasing need of speed. Nowadays people can travel from China to Peru within a day. Therefore, modem transport greatly facilitates people's travel from place to place.
With the development of modem transport, contact between people and nations have become more frequent than ever before. In the old days only national leaders visited foreign countries. Nowadays mutual visits between nations are not limited to the national level, even grass-roots levels. Even individuals often go sightseeing abroad or go to visit their relatives abroad. It seems as if the whole world became a big family.
The rapid development of modem transport may be partly responsible for these changes. However, in turn, the people's increasing need of transport promotes the development of transport.

Modern transportation in urban areas has provided us with vehicles of various kinds, the four in the pictures being the most popular.
I think the private car is the most comfortable and driving it is really a lot of fun. I long for a car of my own and I always admire those car-owners. However, I don't have so much money to afford such a luxury , not to mention the annual taxx
Although less comfortable, the taxi is convenient.It comes with a wave of hand. Besides, I don't have to take the trouble of caring for it. Nevertheless, I have to annually pay a handsome sum of money if I go to work/school by taxi .every day. This is beyond my financial budget. In addition, I am
afraid of meeting hostile taxi drivers.
I will firmly refuse the motorcycle, It's dangerous.I am always shocked by the flying motorcyclists and worried about the potentiat accident s.
So, riding a bike leaves my preference. I feel free riding a bike and riding among the multitude of bicyetesls a sort of enjoymefit. A bicycle is far much cheaper than any of the other three,means of transportation. If my bike should be stolen,I would have no hesitation to buy a new one.
In short,I prefer riding my bike,buy that doesn't mean I don't like the.car.Sooner or later, I Will have a car of my own
