You Changed My Life
人与人之间就像相互碰撞的粒子,在接触的瞬间又相互影响.当你从别人那儿获得帮助时,或许你也改变了他的生活.

My husband and I were lucky to land together in a new country just a month ago.We were a little afraid about what would happen to us.When we arrived at the airport,a tall man with smiling eyes greeted us.
The days and months were somehow made easier for us by this kind man.He greeted us every day with his smile and accompanied us to the bank,to the supermarket,and he would even tell us where we could buy paint,where the coffee shop was,where to get key duplicated1,and where we could buy almost everything.He was like a big brother to us.
A couple of times we watched soccer matches in a coffee shop together.During the first time,we saw that he beamed2 with happiness.He told us that we were lucky —my husband and I were together in this foreign land.He said he had been lonely for eight years.He rarely saw his family,as they were far away in his home country.
During the second get-together,he told us that we were his family.He said that he loved us and that he would miss us because he was going back to his home country for a vacation for one and a half months.That night,he said something that surprised me:"You changed my life..."
As my husband and I went home that night,we couldn’t believe what we had been told.Deep in our hearts,we were touched by what our friend had said.We sent him a message upon returning home to thank him for being a big brother to us in this foreign land.We told him as well that we felt very safe when we went out with him,to which he replied,"You are my family here."
On the first weekend of December,we’re going to see him again.We’re going to watch a football match in that coffee shop again and think back on the dear memories we shared.
