1.I am sorry to hear that our boy students' average scores of the final are lower than those of girl students'. I talked with some boys and asked them what they prepared before the final exam. I knew some of them were smart but they just played the video games too much. They did not do the review work before the final. I told them if they did that again next time, I would punish them hard. But, it is still too late. We lost to the girls this time. They are happy in front of us now.
2.On New Year's Eve, we got together at my grandparents' home. We had a big dinner with 10 courses. However, the whole chicken, whole duck and the pork leg were not touched. My grandparents said that they would have finished those first when they were young. Obviously, times had changed. We just picked some delicious seafood.
After dinner, I went outside with my cousins. We lit fireworks and firecracker. The dark sky became colorful. We shouted and jumped when we saw the fireworks shooting into the sky and exploded into leaves and flowers, gold, red, green or purple.
Some of my cousins held the firecrackers in their hands and lit them and then threw them up. The firecrackers cracked up in the sky and made all of us laugh heartily.
We played and played until midnight. At that time, all the kids lit their fireworks and firecrackers at the same time. The whole sky was lit up in a moment and happy noise made whole neighborhood very high with excitement. What a great evening!
3.My friend went to Shanghai last Monday. He could not understand their dialect. But, they could speak Mandarin. However, sometimes, it was hard to understand their Mandarin. My friend's last name was Wang. His friend's last name was Huang. But Shanghai people had the same pronunciation for Wang and Huang. So, when they called my friends, my friends did not know who they were calling. However, most time, they could understand each other very well. In fact, my friend had learned some Shanghai dialect when he was there. He was happy there and he will go there again.
4,I am a second-year student of a junior high school now. Right now, I am on a winter vacation. Most of our classmates stay at home for the vacation, because our Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year, is at this time too. However, I can still reach each other by phones or email. We exchange our ideas about our4 homework. We talk about what to do in the new year.
I really like the vacation, because after homework, I still have time to watch TV.

New Year's Eve
Today is the last day of the lunar year.Early in the morning,our whole family began to prepare for the dinner on the lunar New Year's Eve.
At 7:00 in the evening,mother put up the table,and began to serve the family reunion dinner.It was really a delisious meal.There were fish,meat and a variety of sauteed vegetables.
We watched the TV as we were eating.Father took photoes of our ludicrous faces during the meal.At midnight,the clock struck twelve and from outside came the sound of exploding firecrakers.With the striking of the clock,we greeted each other for the coming of the New Year.
In bidding farewell to the outgoing year,the striking of the clock at the end of the year led us into a new year.I wish I would have good luck in the new year,and all my dreams would come ture.

Staying at Home Alone

I took my school report and came back home cautiously only to find mother wasn't at home. She went to my aunt's and wou!d come back in the evcning. I knew that fi'om a note on the table. I was still a little bit frightened as if mother would come back suddenly.
Seeing the low marks on the school report and remcmbering mother's cold face, I almost trembled with fear. lf mother know I got so low marks oa the subjects, especially English, she would tear all my cartoon books which are my fovourite. I have been treating them as my own life for a long time. But mother always thought cartoon diverted my attention from study and had a bad effect on me. Frankly speaking, I had realized it. Mother hated those books. She had warned me if I got low marks once more she would get rid of them. I Still wanted to keep those books even if I would mever touch them from then on. What should I do? I knew that any persuation was in vain. I would prevent mother from doing that.
A good idea stroke me. I gathered all the books and put them in a box. Then, I hid the box under my bed. Having done it carefully, I had a breathing spell.
Opening the English book, I sat at the desk and began to read. It was really the time that I learned English carefully, I thought.

星期五，我在家里写作业，写到了晚上，我的耳边朦朦胧胧的听见有人在唱歌，我在窗户那看了看，什么都没有，过了一会，一听电话铃响了，吓了我一跳，我拿起电话说：“喂？”原来是爸爸打来的，他告诉我体育场在演节目，他可以带我去，我非常高兴地说：“好啊！”过了一会，他来接我了，于是我就下楼了，坐上了车，那里好像戒严了，不让停车，所以我们就停别的地方去了，我们走过去“天啊，这么多人啊！”我惊讶地说。那里的人很多，我看见楼上的窗户里有一个个的小脑袋，马路中间堆满了人，爸爸说票在四大大那，我们就给他打电话，他的手机快没电了所以打不进去，警官把我们都赶去了步行路上我们看见四大大出来了，给我们送票来了，我和爸爸进去了，看见一个个明星唱歌，都看不见人，一个人就像铅笔盒那么大，真没劲，有句老话说了，台上一群疯子，台下一群傻子，那些人们还使劲全身力量叫好，他们都站起来了，有的人看不到都站到椅子上了，到22：00，不想看了，就回家了。
